It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita F. Shonkwiler of Greenfield, Ohio, who passed away on May 12, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William J. Baxla and Icy Parks Baxla; and her siblings, Wilma Smith, Viva Nell Black, Waneta Wallace, Martha Divney, Erma Butler and Sherryl Baxla.

She is survived by: her husband Charles O. Shonkwiler; her children, Charles Shonkwiler (Karen) of Fairborn, John Shonkwiler of Greenfield and Gwen Harbison of Batavia; her grandchildren, Sarah Dawley, Joel Shonkwiler (Suzanne), Hannah Scruggs (Jon), Jeremy Lovely (Carrie), Kenneth Shonkwiler (Emily), Matthew Shonkwiler and Lori Shonkwiler; and her siblings, Phyllis P. Willis of Greenfield and Loren Baxla (Donna) of St. Petersburg, FL.. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

With the recent death of their father, Rita's family kindly asks that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Rita's name to the Adena Hospice or the Greenfield First United Methodist Church.
