He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Howland and Edna Howland (Smith); and his siblings, Virgil, Dwight, Jack, Jerry Howland, Violet Cottrill, Dorothy Cottrill and Edna Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Howland (Sword); and his children, Paul Howland, II (Karen) of Greenfield, Cheryl Hartke (Roger) of Cincinnati, Carol Puckett (Randy) of Greenfield and Cindy Jackson of Greenfield. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
