He was predeceased by: his parents, D. Arthur Shonkwiler and Kathern Henderson Shonkwiler; and his brothers, Arthur and Russell Shonkwiler. He is survived by: his wife Rita Baxla; his children, Chuck Shonkwiler (Karen) of Fairborn, John Shonkwiler of Greenfield and Gwen Harbison of Batavia; and his grandchildren, Sarah Dawley, Joel Shonkwiler (Suzanne), Hannah Scruggs (Jon), Jeremy Lovely (Carrie), Kenneth Shonkwiler, Matthew Shonkwiler and Lori Shonkwiler. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
