He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Wiesman; his children, Tom Wiesman (Cathy), Jenny Acra (late Tom) and Tina Johnson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Chris Wiesman (Maria), Karen Wiesman, Andy Wiesman (Beckii), Michael Wiesman (Laura), Lisa Lorenz (Randy), Holly Danford (Will), Cari Johnson (Andrew Doster) and Cory Johnson (Rebecca Scantland); and his siblings, Sir Mae Lawson and Bernette Hansman. He was also cherished by 14 great-grandchildren.
