He was predeceased by: his parents, Angus Potts and Marabel Potts; his brothers, Angus and Mickey; his son Chad Potts; and his former wife Connie Potts.

He is survived by: his children, Charlie Potts II (Tasha) and Crissy Shirkey; his grandchildren, Bryce, Briley, Allison and Mason; and his siblings, Stephanie, Sharon, Steve and Mary Jo (Darrell).

In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Amvets or ODNR Division of Wildlife.
