He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold T. Munson and Phyllis M. Munson Jr. (Vogel); his brother Richard Munson; and his sister-in-law Cathy Munson. He is survived by: his wife Karen "Kate" Thiry; his daughters, Julie Zainal (Nasser), Mindy Ary (Mitch) and Stephanie Ricker (Matthew); his grandchildren, Laith, Hafsa, Hareth, Muaath Zainal, Miles Ary, Colin, Jameson Nusser and Madelyn Ricker; and his siblings, Susan and Jim (Shirley).

Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Cemetery Care or Bridge Hospice c/o the funeral home.
