She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis E. Herb and Marian F. Herb (Meyer); and her siblings, Richard C. Herb, Barbara E. Rengel, Audrey A. Ciresi, Marjory L. Herb and Marilyn F. Allen.
She is survived by: her husband Gene Schalk; her children, Linda S. Schalk (Alfredo Diaz), Marcia A. Walters (Bradley), Sandra K. Donahoe (Christopher), Jeffry E. Schalk (Stacy) of Herndon, VA and Nicholas E. Schalk (Berenice) of New Braunfels, TX.; her grandchildren, Meghaan, Kathryn, Andrew Walters, Joshua, Adam Schalk (Katharine), Marian, Aaron (Julie), Christin (Gabriel Brown), Brian, Kellyn Donahoe, Nicole and Matthew Schalk-Virgen; her son Rodolfo Solis (Karla); her grandsons, Rodolfo José and Julian; her stepsiblings, Marge Friemoth, Pat Briggs, Dwain Hohman (Barb) and Sharon Williamson; her friends, Dominoes, Pinochle, Euchre and Kings; her child Eagle Scouts; and her nephew Reverend David Schalk (Deacon Alfredo Diaz).
Memorials may be made in Betty's name to St. Wendelin Catholic Church, the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation or a Charity of the donor's choice.
