He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Smith and Lorella Smith (Bussey); his son Martin Smith; and his siblings, Gerald "Sonny", Irene, Mildred and Doris.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith of Fostoria; his children, Cheryl Bohanon (Jim) of Jenera and Michael Smith (Pam) of Clarksville, TN; his sister Vivian Bolen (Max) of Pataskala; his grandchildren, Krista, Derek Bohanon, Dustin, Shayne and Trent Smith; and his great grandchild Logan Smith.
