He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Potteiger; and his siblings, Terry, Robert, Carol Carrell and Darlene Best.
He is survived by: his children, John, Robert "Bobby" and Penny; and his siblings, Ronnie, Johnnie, Pete, Floyd, Kay Dallen and Debbie Kroeschel. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
