He was predeceased by: his father Wayne N. Messenger; his grandparents, Calvin, Nellie Messenger (Rapp), Darrell and Maude McKinniss (Erwin); and his brother Anthony "Tony" Messenger.
He is survived by: his daughter Megan Byers (Chuck); his sister Angela Wells (Jon); his grandchildren, Caley Byers, Avery Byers, Kellen Holland, Kaylynne Creamer, Madilyn Messenger, Maralyn Messenger and Hadlee Byers; and his nieces and nephews, Justin Wells (Logan), Allysha Beck (Dylan), Philip Messenger and Hunter Messenger.
