She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilda Cook and Thomas Cook; her husband Edwin Shaffer; her son-in-law Norman Patterson; and her close friend Eloise Gabbert.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Shaffer (Judy), Sharon Patterson, Carol Wilhelmy and Michael Shaffer (Rachele Lynn); her grandchildren, Heather Shaffer, Tiffany Dattilo (Bryan), Rose Shaffer, Rebekah Mohler (Elijah), Kristie Combs and Trevor Davis; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Nolte Jr. and Vincent Norman Dattilo.
