Donald C. Stout Obituary
Donald C. Stout, 85, of Findlay, Ohio passed away very early Wednesday morning, October 11, 2023. Don had been challenged with cancers for many years. Don was born in Lima, Ohio on February 23, 1938 to William Lloyd Eugene Stout and Teresa Regina (Finn) Stout, the youngest of nine children.
Don spent his school years in Carey, Ohio. He joined the Boy Scouts and became the first Eagle Scout in Carey, Ohio. Don spent 74 years in volunteer Scouting. After graduating from Carey High School in 1958, he served 4 years in the Marines. Don moved to Findlay in 1962. On June 6, 1964, Don married Martha Rose Kreinbrink.
Don is survived by his wife, Martha, his five children: Mark (Brian Meeder), Linda (Ron) Gulley, Karen Stout; Susan (Wes) Russell, John (Nichole); grandchildren: Molly, Ashleigh (Larry, dec) , Kylie, Evie. Andrew (Amber); great grandchildren Leighton, Waylon, and Warren. Don is survived by a brother Harold.
Don's parents and stepfather, Urban Lorentz and infant sons, Stephen and David preceded him in death. Also, his siblings Paul, Bill, John, Jim, Mary, Thomas, and Richard.
Don was a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish, the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, American Legion, AM Vets, DAV, VFW, and a former member of the Hancock Co. Veterans Memorial Squad. Adventurous family summers were spent tent camping to Ohio Historical sites.
We wish to thank Clara Pargeon who drove Don and Martha to Toledo and to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor as well as clinic appointments, and the nurses and aides from Hospice home care for their helpful visits.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Avenue, Findlay, Ohio with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM in St. Michael of the Archangel Catholic Church Downtown Chapel, 617 W. Main Cross Street, Findlay. Interment with Military Honors will immediately follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in Donald's honor may be gifted to St. Michael's Church, the Charity of the Donor's Choice, or to Donald's family.
