He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Sue Newhall (Jones); and his parents, Clifton Newhall and Elizabeth Newhall (Kaiser). He is survived by: his children, Cindy Martin (Simon), Daniel Newhall (Lisa), Alan "Doug" Trott (Wendy), Donald Newhall (Melanie) and David Newhall (Stefanie); his grandchildren, Collin Martin, Justin Newhall (Elizabeth), Brandon Newhall, Austin Newhall, Quinn Newhall (Alicia), Lindsey Newhall, Kai and Keegan Trott; his great grandchildren, Hadley and Jackson; and his brother Robert "Bob" Newhall (Sally). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Diabetes Association.
