She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto "Werner" Goertz and Erika Schrick (Quapp); her husband John Ray Hayes; her daughter Carol Colwell; her grandson Christopher Smith; her brother Otto Hayes; her brother-in-law Hans; and her pet Heidi.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Hayes (Suzanne), John Hayes (Pamela) and Brigitte Smith (Jeff); her grandchildren, Phyllis (Harlan), Keith, Brandon, Nick (Stephanie), Joshua (Theresa), Justin "Doc" (Jackie), Jennifer (Russ) and Scott (Abby); her sister Brigitte; and her sister-in-law Edda Goertz. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren.
