He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Patricia; and his brothers, Zoyd Plas and John Plas. He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Michael W. Plas, Matthew P. Plas and Kelli A. Nolan; his grandson Matthew Plas; his siblings, Mary Addi, Laura Plas, Ginny Plas, Steve Plas and Art Plas; and his friend Patty Wilson.
