He was predeceased by: his parents, Montie Van and Mildred O. "Dolly" Dewire, Sr. (Scott); his wife L. Joan "Joby" Burd; and his brothers, Montie Van Dewire, Jr. and Steve Dewire.
He is survived by: his children, Tom Dewire (Carrie) of Toledo, Ohio and Laura Rode (Jeff) of Bryan, Ohio; his grandchildren, Nolan, Matt, Colin, Nathan, Abby, Allie Dewire, Courtney and Jordan Rode; his sister Mary Damman of Hillsdale, Michigan; and his sisters-in-law, Sue Dewire of Montpelier, Cheryl Dewire of Hamilton, Donna Burd of Edon, Carol Long (Wendel) of Edon and Janet Schaffter of Edon. He is also survived by friends and going to his grandkids.
