He was predeceased by: his parents, John Downing and Mary Ann Henderson Downing; his wife Vickie; his siblings, Carolyn Springer and David Downing; and his half-brother John Downing.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dayna Kelly Downing Robertson (Jamie) of Boston and Kimberly Dawn Mulheman (Ron) of Uhrichsville; his siblings, Mary Jane Walker (Earl) of Sherrodsville, Linda Armstrong (Robert) of Sherrodsville, Jim Downing (Rose) of Sherrodsville, Harold "Bud" Downing (Colleen) of Sherrodsville, Carl Downing (Nancy) of New Philadelphia and Paul Downing (Janie) of Walhalla; and his half-sisters, Ruth Ann Derush, Shirley Galligher and Janet Mitchell. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
