She was predeceased by: her husband James McDowell; her brother David Sandlin; and her parents, Claude Sandlin and Rose Sandlin. She is survived by: her daughter Melinda Piroska (Steve); her grandchildren, Samantha Lee (Levi), Jared and Hunter Piroska; and her great grandchild Maya Lee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
