Irene G. Zipfel Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene G. Zipfel of Defiance, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 28, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Sheets and Anna Sheets (Siler); her husband Howard Zipfel; her sons, Bradley, Gary and Thomas Zipfel; her siblings, Rosie Gladieux, Theresa Hoffman, Agnes VanDoren, Esther Batt, Mary Kuhn, Hildonna Hesselschwardt, Coletta Sheets, Joseph, Wesley, Paul and Martin Sheets; and her daughter-in-law Sheryl Zipfel.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Karr (Doug) of Defiance, Elaine Flory (Mark) of Defiance, Carol McCann (James) of Defiance, Eric Zipfel of Defiance and Mark Zipfel of Defiance; and her daughter-in-law Shirley Zipfel. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Hospice, or St. Michael's Catholic Church Parish Center.
