It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald L. Hanefeld of Defiance, Ohio, born in Vaughnsville, Ohio, who passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hanefeld and Mildred Hanefeld (Parker); his brother Richard "Dick" Hanefeld; and his former wives, Mary Ellen Hauter and Kay Bauer.
He is survived by: his son Doug Hanefeld (Deb) of Continental; his granddaughter Jessica Deken (Scott); his great grandchildren, Tessa and Taylee Deken; his siblings, Ruth Ann Everett of Bluffton and Dennis Hanefeld (Kimberly) of Ottawa; and his fiancée Carolyn Sines of Defiance. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in Don's honor may be gifted to a charity of the donor's choice.
