He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hirst and Evelyn Hirst (Kirk); his grandson Jeffrey B. Hirst, Jr.; and his siblings, Shirley Smith and Bill Hirst.
He is survived by: his wife Betsy; his children, Jeff Hirst of Massillon, Mark Hirst (Deb) of Dalton and Laura Miller (Steve) of Massillon; his grandchildren, Megan Hirst of Orrville, Victoria Hirst of Smithville, Allison Hirst of Dalton, Quentin Hirst of Brewster and Grady Hirst of Dalton; his great grandchild Jay Suttle; and his sister Linda Hodavan (Andy) of Portage Lakes.
