She was predeceased by: her husband Edward Golson, Jr.; and her parents, Henry Bemis and Laura Bemis. She is survived by: her children, Sara Ekkens and Conrad Ekkens; her granddaughter Emily Rudnitskas; her great grandchildren, Joshua Goins, Elizabeth Goins, Bernard Coe and Grace Coe; her stepson David Golson; and her siblings, Martha Rogers, William Bemis (Rebecca Freeman) and Frank Bemis (Joyce).
