He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Soppel and Louis Soppel; his brother Harold (Agnes); and his nephew Craig. He is survived by: his spouse Judithe; his children, Amy Renshaw of Greensboro, NC and Jeffrey Soppel (Kim) of Twinsburg; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle Renshaw, Jeremy and Jordan Soppel. He is also survived by two nieces, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
