He was predeceased by: his parents, Lt. Governor Myrl H and Dorothy Cook Shoemaker; his wife Joy Brown; his brother Keith; his parents-in-law, Emerson and Ruth Brown; and his brother-in-law Bob Brown.
He is survived by: his children, John Shoemaker (Jackie), Steve Shoemaker (Angela) and Lisa Easterday (Dan); his grandchildren, Kayla Hoorelbeke (Casey), Jenna Huey (Jeremy) and Nick Easterday; his great grandchild Coraline Hoorelbeke; his siblings, Mike Shoemaker (Kathy), Kevin Shoemaker (Barb), Mick Shoemaker (Polly), Kathy Shoemaker, Brenda Finnessy (Bob) and Debbie Leach (Bob); his friends, Marsha and Frank Breeden; and also Vicki Shoemaker.
