He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde E. "Shorty" and Melva Watson Bennett; and his siblings, Emerson Franklin Bennett and Virginia James. He is survived by: his pet Clyde; his daughter Cynthia McNelly (Jim) of Chillicothe, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tyler McClure of Chillicothe, Chance McNelly of Chillicothe and Savannah McNelly of Chillicothe; and his brother-in-law Russell "Pete" James of Gallipolis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
