She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Platz and Florence Platz; and her husband George C. Vess. She is survived by: her grandsons, Damon Sarver, Jason Sarver (Scott), Zachary Jencks (Jenny), Joshua Thurman (Sherin) and Jonathan Thurman (Felecia); her great grandchildren, Alivia, Dana, Nick Sarver, Kayleigh, Abby Jencks, Penny and Miles Thurman; and her sisters, Mary Bettles of Herington, KS and Bonnie Wallace of Osawatomie, KS. She is also survived by three children.
