She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Laurel O. Smith and Pearl McKee Smith; her husband Donald W. Bates; her children, LaDonna Cordell (Bob), Lorraine Davis, Galen Bates (Michele), Glenda Skidmore (Dan), Bryan Bates and Leah Davis (Kevin); her grandchildren, Tyler Cordell (Rebecca), Tracy Davis, Gabriella, Wade, Samuel Bates, Roy Skidmore (Nikki), Kelly Skidmore, Joshua Bates (April), Morgan Miller (Justin), Madison Heddleson (Cody), Ariel Bates (Trevor), Kevin Davis (Heather), Dustin Davis, Katlyn Dailey (Dave) and Kalob Davis; her sister Dorothy J. Schott (Don Bridgman Sr.); her nephew Edward Schott; and her nieces, Elizabeth Dimmerling and Janie Crum (Steve).
