He was predeceased by: his father Ernest L. Barnhart. He is survived by: his mother Alice Garvin Barnhart of Caldwell; his children, Lori Triplett of Macksburg, James Barnhart Jr. of Caldwell and Carolyn Bell (Brian) of Malta; and his grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy Tullius, Colton Barnhart and Tinley Baily.
