He was predeceased by: his parents, Clemence George and Sophia Margaret Noll Ruppel; his son David Ruppel; his former wife Peggy; his sister Irene (Wilbur Archer); his daughter-in-law Jenny Ruppel; and his parents-in-law, Frank and Edna Wiley.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Ann Wiley; his children, Dr. Dennis Ruppel (Dianna) of Gahanna, Gerald "Gary" Ruppel (Kelly) of Caldwell, Lawrence "Larry" Ruppel of Caldwell and Diane Emde (Jerry) of Plainwell, Michigan; his grandchildren, Molly Dengle (Nathan), Meghan Ruppel (Jonathan Baltes), Ian Ruppel, Zachary Ruppel, Paige Ruppel (Keri), Lucas Hughes (Alina), Reva Steed (Brook), Brian Ruppel (Krystal King), Kate Ruppel (Derick Curtis), Nickolai Emde and Ivan Emde; his stepgranddaughters, Sallie and Kimberly Samolitis; his great grandchildren, Riley, Hailey Ruppel, Logan Steed, Maggie Steed, Lillie Steed, Sterling Curtis, Alex Hughes and Mia Hughes; his brother Marvin Ruppel; and his close friend Dottie Dixon of Cleveland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Guests are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at the funeral home as required by the state of Ohio.
