He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Gurgis and Lillie Ann Medenhall Matthews; his wife E. Frances "Cricket" Buckey Matthews; his son Brady R. Miller; his grandson Jason Earl Staley; his great grandchild Tiffany Dawn Morris; and his brothers, Gerald, Gale and Glen Matthews.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy DeVolld (Ray) of Pataskala, OH, Allen Matthews (Denise) of Caldwell, Leonard E. Matthews (Linda Todd) of Cambridge and Jim Matthews (Margaret) of St. Joseph, MI. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
