He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden George and Mable Shifflet Wheeler; his sons, Elvin A. "Butch" Wheeler and Jeffrey Wheeler; and his brother Daryl Wheeler.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn J. McElfresh Wheeler; his stepchildren, Kevin Schott (Linda) of Sharon, Jack Schott (Olivia) of Caldwell and Jill Kelley (John) of Zanesville; his sister Marcella Bond (Earl) of Belle Valley; his grandchildren, Brett Wheeler, Ellen Gies, Cody Kelley, Cole Kelley, Cora Schott and Logan Schott; and his great grandchild Abigail Kelley.
