He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Smith and Mary C. Doebereiner Smith; his former wife Mary Maxine Wilson Smith; his wife Patricia M. Finkel Smith; his son Roger D. Smith; and his brother Clyde Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce E. Smith (Debbie Ware) of Alliance and Marcia S. Allbritain (Danny) of Caldwell; his sister Faye Champlin of Carroll; his grandchildren, Jennifer Bilcze (Aaron), Kelly Chandler (Matt), Brian Smith (Amber Gray), Nathan Allbritain (Amanda Gray), Alicia Scherf (Jeremy) and Nolan Allbritain (Michele Welsh); his great grandchildren, Landon, Peyton, Madison Bilcze, Dylan, Olivia Chandler, Brennan Smith, Daulton Gray, Bayleigh Gates, Emmalyn, Britton Scherf, Cohen and Kaylee Gray; and his friend Emmerson Rowlands of Zanesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
