He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey Ernest and Bonnie Ellen Holland (Potts); and his brother David Holland. He is survived by: his wife Lori of Lexington; his children, Julie Brown (Bruce), Richard T. Holland, David Holland (Michelle), Gregory Holland and Stephanie Moore (Jarrod); his grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Madison, Olive, Milla, Abigail and Caitlyn; and his siblings, Delores Holland, Donald and Curt Holland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
