He was predeceased by: his father Alvin Lowell; and his sister Kimberly Kapperman. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Ann Kapperman of Bellefontaine; his children, Rebecca Brown (Thomas) of Charleston, Elizabeth Kapperman of Charleston and Andrew Kapperman of Charleston; his grandchildren, Samantha, Fiona, Jackson, Ty and Dalton; and his siblings, Michael Kapperman (Charlene) of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, Timothy Kapperman (Laronda) of Perry, Lisa Zell (Jeffrey) of Bellefontaine and Joni Kapperman Cooney of Sarasota, Florida. He is also survived by eight nieces and seven nephews.

He cared about the well-being of birds and wildlife and was proud to support the National Wildlife Foundation and the ASPCA.
