He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Kress and Mary Kress (Van Meter); and his granddaughter Tricia James. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Kress Wolfe of Bellefontaine and Kim E. Kress (Connie) of Belle Center, Ohio; his grandchildren, Trina Allison of New Albany, Suzanne Gillespie (Derek) of Russells Point and Connor Kress of Detroit, Michigan; his great grandchildren, Logan Wolfe, Victoria Allison, Nicole Allison, Cassandra Allison and Jace Gillespie; his sister Patricia Palmer of St. Petersburg, Florida; and his brother-in-law Glen Miller (Nancy Cozort) of Jasper. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
