He was predeceased by: his daughter Sherry Hammerly; and his parents, Bessie Mae and Wiley Oliver Evans. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly; his children, Karen and Joel (Carrie); his grandchildren, Michael, Joshua (Rebecca) and Jennifer Jones (Scott); and his sister Shirley Webb (late Conrad). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
