He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred DeHart and Mary DeHart; his wives, Marilyn and Lois; his son William Jr.; and his brothers, Frank and Bob.

He is survived by: his children, Melvin DeHart (Denise), Michael DeHart and Melisa Noirot (Jerry); his grandchildren, Travis, Noah DeHart, Jared, Caleb, Maddie and Ben Noirot; and his sister Margaret "Peg" Palmer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
