He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas H. Metzger and Virginia Metzger; and his brother William Metzger. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Nancy Narayanan (Hari), John T. Metzger (Jackie) and Diane Feinstein (David); his grandchildren, Julie Schober, Jared Schober, Natasha Narayanan, Mina Narayanan and Candace Metzger; and his sister Jane Miller.
