He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis John and Madge Hondel (Martin); and his brother Marion Ellis Hondel. He is survived by: his wife Lola M. Hondel (Cisco); his children, Sally Ann Hondel-Roberts (Todd) of Amanda, Robert E. Hondel Jr. of Amanda and Landon Roberts (Alexis Butterbaugh) of Amanda; and his brother Bill Hondel of Zanesville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
