She was predeceased by: her parents, Abraham Jenkins and Essie Gadsen Jenkins. She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Jenkins of Bronx, NY, David Brown of Bronx, NY, Nathaniel Brown of Bronx, NY and Ferne McNeil; her grandsons, John D. McNeil and Andre McNeil; her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jada and London; and her sister Mary Bowman of Bronx. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association.
