He was predeceased by: his significant other Reetha; his parents, Peter Shumway and Esther Shumway; his brothers, Roy Shumway, Arthur Shumway and Elwin Shumway; and his grandson Daniel Shumway II.
He is survived by: his children, Chip Shumway (Sharon) of Horseheads, Daniel Shumway (Nancy) of Watkins Glen and Dawn DePue (Mark) of Horseheads; his grandchildren, Kelly Reese (Bill), Jennifer Tabor, Jackie DePue and Megan Smith (Robert); and his great grandchildren, Gabby Reese, Quentin Reese, Tyler Fee, Luke Tabor, Johnathan Shumway, Aurora Smith and Faith Smith. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
