He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis E. Cooley and Myrtle J. Green Cooley; and his siblings, June Bennett, Sandra Fritz, Edward Cooley and Walter Cooley.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Cooley (Michelle) of Buffalo, NY, Tracy Poindexter of Java, VA, Anne Johnson (Michael Osborn) of Melbourne, FL, Melissa Spina (Garrett) of Geneva, NY and David Cooley (Barbi) of Merritt Island, FL; his siblings, Albert Cooley of Newark, NY, Jack Cooley (Leigh Ann) of Oswego, NY, Clifford Cooley and Denise Cooley of Waterloo, NY; and his aunt Gertrude Jones of Seneca Falls, NY. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
