He was predeceased by: his father James P. McDonald; and his brothers, David and John. He is survived by: his wife Judy Redick McDonald; his children, Tracie Ann Chieco (Jon) of Saratoga and William Charles McDonald (Shannon) of Charlottesville; his grandchildren, Kaitlin LeClerc (Stephen), Noah Chieco, Ty McDonald and Shawn McDonald; and his great grandchildren, Aden LeClerc and Maeve LeClerc.
