He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior Utter and Jane Utter (Eckert); his father-in-law Harry Lynch, Sr.; his daughter Katie Ann Utter; and his granddaughter Mia Mae Utter.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Utter; his children, Kyle Utter (Nikki) of Maryland, NY, April Murphy (Richard) of Walton, NY and Arlene Utter (Austin) of Walton, NY; his grandchildren, Kendra, Arianna, Lucas, Carrie, Prestyn Wyatt, Jadynn and Joshua; his siblings, Deb Hitt (Fred), Bonnie Craig (Steve), Daniel Utter (Tammy), Roger Utter (Pam) and Robert Utter (Barb); his adoptive father Lester Howard; and his mother-in-law Ruth Lynch of Virgil, NY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
