He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Cardero, and Virginia Jimenez Cardero, Sr.; his sisters, Mariana Eggers, Maria Luisa Quinones and Gloria Santiago; and his grandson Kal-El Joseph Cardaro.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick Cardero of Modena, Anita Cardero of Wisconsin and Kathleen Goguen of Walden; and his granddaughters, Rebecca Pilluis and Jessica Dunn.
