He was predeceased by: his parents, Jane Dunfee (Sick) and Francis Hi Dunfee; and his brother William Patrick Dunfee. He is survived by: his wife Philomena Dunfee (Connolly); his children, Bridget, Maureen (Doug), Theresa (Bob) and Pat (Karen); his stepchildren, Rich, Hilda, Emmett (Margaret) and Brenda (Bill); his grandchildren, Patrick, Ally, Derek, Matt, Stacy, Ryan, Sean, Carli, Jack, Erin, Shannon, Conor, Aidan, Eoin and Maeve; and his siblings, Kay Nicholson (Larry) and Dick Dunfee.
