He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hersam and Edith Hersam (Clark). He is survived by: his wife Karen Faye Ianuzi; his children, Cheryl, Rachel, Melinda, Rebecca, Anna, Richard, Michael and Samuel; and his brother Robert. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
