He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Klein and Estelle Klein; his sisters, Julie Sharpe and Rosemary Heaney; his brother-in-law John Heaney; and his brother John.

He is survived by: his daughter Amy Klein Hoefer; his son-in-law Tom of Oswego; his former wife Robin Klein of Syracuse; and his close friend David Abrams (Cheryl). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren.
