Fillip; his wife Mary Collins Fillip; his sister Margaret Kimberling of Pittsburgh; and his children, Joseph Jr. (Alexandra Kendrick), Kevin, Christopher (Carol Harasty), Lynn (Paul Hendry), Maribeth (Seamus O'Hara) and Sheila (Ross Gordon). He was also cherished by nine granddaughters.
