It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet McDermott of Syracuse, New York, born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on January 14, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Waldemar Schmidt and Sara Schmidt; her husband Jack; her daughter Chris Crandall; her sons-in-law, Gary Crandall and Gary Glath; and her siblings, Mary Patricia Dwyer and Vincent Leo Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, Jack (Lisa), Betsy Glath, Susan Hanley (Ed), Tim (Marilyn), Tom (Diane), Janet Connor (Joe) and Pete (Laura); and her siblings, Caryl Hedderman and David Schmidt. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
